The Head of the Middle Urals Evgeny Kuyvashev signed a decree on preparations for the European Sambo Championship in Ekaterinburg. Competitions will be held from May 21 to May 25, 2020.
With reference to Information Policy Department, the Governor ordered to convocate Organizing Committee for preparation for the event. The Ministry of Physical Culture, together with the Sambo Federation of the Sverdlovsk Region were directed to run the Championship at a high organizational level. The Ministry of Health will need to provide a high quality medical care for participants, and the Ministry of Public Security – will be responsible for law enforcement and safety.
According to Viktor Ashikhin, President of the Sambo Federation of the Sverdlovsk Region, preparations for the event have already begun.
“In August of this year, more than 30 of the most talented and promising young sambo wrestlers of the Middle Urals who attended pre-season training in the Orenburg region, in addition to sambo training, took a special course of a novice referee to help official referees in servicing the matches of the Sambo Championship 2020”, - said Victor Ashikhin.
On the eve of the new academic year, the Sambo Federation of the Sverdlovsk Region and the UMMC Sambo Club (Verkhnyaya Pyshma) released special edition school diaries for young sambo wrestlers.
In addition to the “traditional” part with the classes schedule, they contain interesting facts from the history of sambo, recommendations from famous champions, information about the main rules and techniques of sambo, as well as various contests and quizzes.
These diaries are handed over to the primary school students of the Middle Ural schools by the brightest stars of the Ural Sambo. This time, the school diaries for the 2019/2020 academic year are fully devoted to the upcoming European Championship in Ekaterinburg.
