Ekaterinburg authorities convocate an Organizing Committee to prepare for the European Sambo Championship, which will be held in this city from May 21 to May 25, the Information Policy Department reports.
The corresponding order was signed on Thursday by Yevgeny Kuyvashev, the Governor of the Sverdlovsk region.
“In August of this year, more than 30 of the most talented and promising young sambo wrestlers of the Middle Urals who attended pre-season training in the Orenburg region, in addition to sambo training, took a special course of a novice referee to help official referees in servicing the matches of the Sambo Championship 2020”, - as the press release states the words of Viktor Ashikhin, the President of the Sambo Federation of the Sverdlovsk Region,
Leonid Rapoport, the Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Sverdlovsk Region, noted that today in the Sverdlovsk region more than 8 thousand people in almost 30 municipalities are engaged in sambo wrestling with more than 500 sambo wrestlers in Verkhnyaya Pyshma.
As it was announced earlier, Ekaterinburg has received the right to host the European Championship 2020 in May this year.
