Ekaterinburg. November 5. INTERFAX-URAL - More than 500 athletes from 37 countries will participate in the European Sambo Championship, which will be held in Ekaterinburg in 2020, -reports Information Policy Department of the Sverdlovsk Region.

 “I am sure that the European Sambo Championship will be a bright sport event in 2020. It has a big importance for increasing the international recognition of the region and its high reputation as a reputable sports center”, - said First Deputy Governor of the region Alexey Orlov.

The Championship will be held at the Palace of Sports in Ekaterinburg from May 21 to May 25, 2020.

The director of the regional center for tourism development Elmira Tukanova said that booklets about the Ural places of interests will be produced for the guests of the event.

Director for General Affairs of the OJSC "UMMC", Head of the Executive Directorate for the Championship Vladimir Beloglazov said that 150 volunteers will be involved for coordination of participants of the Championship.

As it was reported, in May 2019, Ekaterinburg won the right to host the European Sambo Championship in 2020.
