The Department of the Information Policy of the Sverdlovsk region states that more than 500 athletes from 37 countries are expected to take part In the European Sambo Championship 2020, which will be held in Ekaterinburg. This was stated by the organizing committee for the preparation and holding of the European Championship. The meeting was held by the first Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Alexey Orlov.
“I am sure that the European Sambo Championship will be a bright sport event in 2020. It has a big importance for increasing the international recognition of the region and its high reputation as a reputable sports center. Our region already has extensive experience in organizing large-scale international sports events. Therefore, our common task is to do everything possible to ensure that the Championship will be held at the highest organizational level”, - said Alexey Orlov.
Members of the organizing committee discussed security issues, medical support of the competition. Special attention was paid to the idea of attracting Russian and foreign fans of this sport as spectators. The director of the regional center for tourism development Elmira Tukanova said that the European Sambo Championship would be included in the region event calendar 2020. Booklets about the Ural places of interests will be produced for the guests of the event.
Vladimir Beloglazov, Director for General Affairs of the OJSC UMMC, Head of the Executive Directorate for the European Sambo Championship 2020 said that 150 volunteers will be involved for coordination of the Championship participants.
