On December 15, 2019, the Hungarian Sambo Federation and the Honved Zrinyi Club of sports and combat sambo held the Hungarian Sambo Championship in the gym of the Hungarian military school. These competitions became the selection for the national team.

Representatives of six clubs competed for medals. As a result, Veronika Szitkovics (up to 80 kg) was the best among women. Among men, the best were Norbert Pável (up to 82 kg), Gergő Fitos (up to 90 kg) and Patrik Kavas (over 90 kg). In combat sambo, Martin Reidinger (up to 74 kg), János Tóth Bálint (up to 82 kg) and Péter Jeszenszky (over 90 kg) celebrated their victories. Perhaps we will see some of them in Ekaterinburg at the European Championship in May.
