The first step to the home European Championship in Ekaterinburg was taken by Sverdlovsk sambo wrestlers (men and women) in the Ural capital, on 13-15 December, 2019. In the course of the Urals Federal District Championship men and women competed to determine who will go to the Russian National Championship to then determine the  participants of the World and European Championships of 2020.

What are the results?

During the Ural Federal District Combat Sambo Championship, Sverdlovsk athletes secured 10 out of 16 spots for participation in the future Russian National Championship. More active were wrestlers of SC “Boets” from Alapaevsk. They were joined by representatives from Ekaterinburg, Kachkanar and Irbit.

At the Ural Federal District Sport Sambo Championship, there were no equals to the wrestlers of the SC UMMC from Verkhnyaya Pyshma. They have 16 secured spots. In addition, two wrestlers from Ekaterinburg and one from of Sukhoi Log are among the medalists
