The Irish sambo federation was established on July 31, 2001. The best sambo athletes are as follows: Derek Conway (-74kg), who took the 6th place in the world sambo championship 2008 in Russia, Brian Conway (– 57 kg) and Kevin Moran (– 74 kg).
